Last night I rode along the sunset pavement. The dusk was calm. The streetlights flicker as my legs cycle through. The crisp air holding fast to the back of my sweat-laden neck. The clouds reflecting citylights illuminating paths for evening strays. And the quiet waves of Lake Michigan offering medium for their clarity. Large cruisers sailing through my view. With casual cocktails and weekend words meant not to be recalled. Let's all get away. Let's take just one night to breathe easily. I in my thoughts, by land. And you in your company, by sea. For these nights are scarce and because tomorrow holds much responsibility.
